The HPL Door is a door profile that has been specifically developed to meet the requirements of the healthcare and hospital sector. The antibacterial, easy-clean surfaces that actively prevent the colonisation and growth of bacteria and germs is an effective way to break the chain of infection.
The antibacterial surface that appears on all Duropal HPL is called MicroPlus. MicroPlus is an additive, which has proven to kill 99% of bacteria within 24hours. This additive is harmless to humans and protects against contamination.
The HPL used on the door is also Fully Fire Rated, UV Inhibited and Chemically Resistant. The HPL can also come in a variety of sheet sizing to suit any size door application. This includes 2150 x 915/950/1050/1300 or 2800 x 2070. Matching ABS Edging can also be applied to the edge depending on the install.
Throughout Europe the HPL Door is a standard for all major Hospital and Commercial applications. Longevity and reduced maintenance cost compared to original painted door applications have also proven to be the most logical solutions to reduce cost therefore providing cost effective solutions for the architect/interior designer and client.
In Australia, we have started to see growth in this sector. Architects and Interior designers are beginning to realise the full scope of benefits from this application. This also allows the designer to have the same colour selection throughout the entire room.
